The Global Sports Industry Congress, to be held in London on 1 November, is the only sport industry event to focus specifically on emerging markets. It will look at the exciting opportunities in these high growth economies – and the role that established international specialists can play in supplying the vision and expertise for them to realise their ambitions for the future.
A high profile line-up of confirmed speakers for the Congress includes Paul Deighton, CEO of the London 2012 Olympics; Dmitry Chernyshenko, CEO of the Sochi 2014 Olympics and Sergei Fursenko, President of the Russian Football Union.
A powerful networking opportunity, the Congress will bring together sports administrators, executives, investors, contractors, suppliers and other key market players, for a broad discussion of the business of sport, including financing, sponsorship, infrastructure, merchandising, marketing and broader development issues.
The conference will profile the new and ambitious generation of "Emerging Sports Nations" from the Middle East, the BRIC markets, Central Asia, Eastern Europe, the Far East and Africa. These countries will be hosting a long list of upcoming events, including the next two World Cups (South Africa 2010, Brazil 2014), the 2014 Winter Olympics (Sochi) and the 2016 Summer Games (Rio de Janeiro).
