Sport and Technology: The Conference 2008, in association with BT Media and Broadcast, is delighted to announce that Hank Adams, CEO of Sportvision Inc, will be providing the Opening Afternoon Address at the seminal event on 13 June 2008 at BT Centre in London.
US-based Sportvision has been credited with developing eight of the top 20 sports TV broadcast innovations since the first live TV sports broadcasts in America in 1939. Its famous Yellow 1st & Ten used in American Football coverage was rated as the seventh greatest innovation ever on ESPN’s Top 100 Innovations in sports.
Sportvision has won eight Emmy Awards, two Horizon Awards and a Bandie for the best interactive TV product. The company produces new media content and live TV enhancements on over 3,000 live events per year seen by more than 200m people. In addition to the Yellow 1st & Ten, Sportvision has also developed the Emmy Award-winning PitCommand and RaceView products on NASCAR.com, K-Zone and PITCHf/x for baseball and the Glowing Puck for the NHL.
Hank Adams assumed the position of CEO at Sportvision in December 2002. Prior to that, he was a co-founder and CEO of Real Fans Sports Network which he built into a sports destination site with a focus on ‘sports from the fans’ perspective’. In 1997, America Online bought Real Fans and Adams subsequently spun Real Fans out from AOL in 1999 to form Ignite Sports Media, which he then merged with Sportvision in 2002. In addition to building three successful companies, Adams was deemed one of Sports Business Journal’s Top Forty under Forty sports executives in 2002 and Crain’s Chicago Business, Forty Under Forty in 1999.
Now in its fourth year, Sport and Technology: The Conference 2008 will bring together its usual strong array of leading sports properties and technology/digital solutions providers to discuss what's hot and what's not in the fast-paced world of technology and sport.
