Entries for the 2009 ESA European Sponsorship Awards have opened, offering sponsorship professionals across Europe the ideal platform to showcase outstanding campaigns.
The Awards, organised by the European Sponsorship Association (ESA), are the only pan-European sponsorship awards celebrating excellence across all sectors - sport, culture, entertainment, media and corporate social responsibility.
Sponsors, rights holders and agencies are all invited to enter their most successful campaigns, in a bid to be judged the best in Europe.
The categories for contention are: Business to Business, Business to Community, Business to Consumer, Business to Employee, and the International Award – designed to recognise excellence in campaigns which have reached a minimum of three different countries, and which reflect activity based within at least one European market.
Entries will be judged by an independent panel of European industry experts, and winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony in London on Wednesday 25th November, as part of ESA’s two-day flagship conference, Future Sponsorship.
Entries close on 25th September and entries submitted by 11th September will benefit from a special early-bird discount.
ESA Chairman, Karen Earl commented: “The ESA European Sponsorship Awards promote best practice and are an important feature in the industry’s annual programme of events. They provide an opportunity to reflect upon the hard work and successes of the past year, and to recognise and celebrate sponsorship excellence from all corners of Europe”.
The 2008 ESA Awards attracted an array of impressive entries from 12 European countries. Castrol UEFA EURO 2008™ was crowned winner of the prestigious International Sponsorship Award. Toby Hester, Head of Brand Football at Castrol, indicated the significance of winning, when he said: “We were delighted to win and be hailed the best in our field in Europe, particularly given the quality of campaigns we were competing against.
“The ESA Awards provided the perfect opportunity for everyone involved with the UEFA EURO 2008 sponsorship to celebrate its success. To be able to say that your campaign has been independently judged the best in its field across Europe is very special.”
